Genki ½ was a half-day free event made by Genki and the convention crew for Islandsbrygge Kulturhavn. After the conclusion of Genki 2009, a youth sponsoring organization called Kraftwerket approached the Genksters asking them host a “Genki” half-day event for Kraftwerket at a cultural festival in the center of Copenhagen. In organizing the event, the Genksters were granted a budget of 8,000 DKK, returning whatever money was left over.

The event had about 200 full-time guests with a few hundred more that were simply 'passing through'; seeing what the event was about.

Activities and events

There were several activites planned out for the event, all going according to planned schedule and proving themselves as great successes. The list of activities, in no particular order, was as follows:

  • Concert with Danish J-Rock band, the Lilith.
  • A small-sized cosplay show with prizes for the winners.
  • A drawing contest with honorary guest and artist, Fei Huang, as the judge.
  • Drawing tables, a Perler workshop, and a Manga corner.
