J-popcon is Denmarks yearly festival for anime and japanese popular culture, which is a gathering point for many fans from Denmark yearly. J-popcon started as a casual event, but has since then grown to a stable 1000 attendees. J-popcon was first held in year 2000, the next event wasn't held until 2003 and since then it has been held every first weekend of November at Valby Kulturhus.

Cosplay

J-popcon has hosted a popular cosplay competition every year and has since 2007 held the qualification rounds for the World Cosplay Summit at their venue. The Danish Cosplay summit was held in 2007, but has not been held since. The qualifications have been the main event of J-popcons yearly cosplay competition.

=Dealer Room

There is a dealer room at J-popcon that has been housed by mostly danish and swedish dealers of anime, manga and merchandise. Dealer rooms are places where stores are alloted tables and rooms and are allowed to sell swag to guests.

Anime Cinema

At J-popcon there are usually 3 or 4 cinemas and most of the time they show anime, and at least one of the cinemas runs 24/7. The cinema tries to enmcompas a wide variety of animes for all ages and gender audiences. In the beginning mostly fansub versions would be shown, but since 2008 there has been a lot of focus on only showing licensed anime.
