Genki, sometimes also called Genki-con, is a Danish anime convention organized by a group of volunteers known as Genksters. It is held over a three-days-two-nights period from Friday to Sunday, but currently has no set date of the year. It however markets itself as a 'summer con' and is confined to that season, though smaller events hosted by Genki are held all year round, such as Genki½. The main focus of the convention is an allround one focusing on music, anime cinemas, art room, events, cosplay show, panels and workshops.

Programming

Genki is a varied type of convention and therefor offers a wide range of programming, exhibits, and other events.

History

Genki was originally set to debut in 2010, giving the organizers almost a full 15 months to plan the con, however, a sudden offer by Valby Kulturhus to use their building for free gave the organizers a chance to organize a beta-con. The beta-con was meant to be a testing ground of sorts for ideas and events with the trade-off being only having two months to organize everything and a limited number of participants (200).
