Battery Boy and Wing Girl are the mascots of the convention J-Popcon and get their names from the battery packs they wear as rucksacks. They were originally drawn by a Japanese artist (not named) who had been contacted by then head of the organizer group, Adrian Pallis.

Battery Boy and Wing Girl are re-drawn for every new J-Popcon convention, often, though not always, by a different artist. Because of this, and the lack of historical documentiation by the convention, there is no readily avaible information on who the artists for each re-drawn mascot has been.
