Hey Hecko X, <br />
Since you seem to be the most active admin around the Wenki, I wanted to ask a quick question. <br />
I've been helping out on Wikipedia for quite a while, and as such gotten a pretty good hang on how everything works. <br />
Anyway, I was thinking of doing a bit of categorizing stuff on here <small>(following the Wiki-guidelines, unless other rules apply here)</small>, but wanted to make sure that you guys are okay with it? :3 <br />
Despite wikis usually being "open-for-all" projects, I just thought that it's ''"better to be safe than sorry"'', so yeah.

Oh, and on another note. I saw that you stated that you ''"Have to think of a different setup"'' in the frontpage's history. <br />
Well, I was just wondering, if it wouldn't be an idea to add some of the most basic Genki-articles to the [[MediaWiki:Sidebar]], perhaps? <br />
Whether or not it's a good idea, I'll let you guys decide. Was just a suggestion. :3

:You're welcome to help out with categorizing, though I doubt that many things will need categorizing at the moment :/ I'm gonna cat the last article and few images in a minute or two, but once we talk some J-Popconers and other con organizers into coming over and creating pages for their cons, there are bound to be people forgetting to cat the pages, so feel free to help then ;3

:The sidebar idea is not bad, but the issue is that this technically isn't exclusively a Genki wiki, but rather a Nordic convention wiki, so we should actually also have "''J-Popcon pages''", "''SVScon pages''", "''Uppcon pages''", etc. on the front page, which is why the current setup is lé crap. However, I've been having exams for the past two weeks and no time to think of anything *phails*. :::Don't worry, I fully understand the codes, I used to help out on several wikis as well, I just rarely have time doing 'facelifts' on pages anymore ^^ The page looks really good, and is very much what I had in mind, albeit slightly better (for starters, I would totally have forgotten about using the <nowiki>__NOEDITSECTION__</nowiki>).
:::The only difference I would make is probably the order of pages and adding labels to some of the links, so all four coloumns look somewhat uniform, but this is just minor stuff. Also, maybe decrease the width of the image on the right, so all four level two headers are on a single line, and smack a valign="top" on it or something. And we should probably also link to either all con events (i.e. J-Popcon, 2005, 2006, etc., even if they ''are'' dead links at the moment) or none of them, rather than just the ones we have articles on at the moment. But I'll be sure to implement this soonish.

A convention, in the sense of a meeting, is a gathering of individuals who meet at an arranged place and time in order to discuss or engage in some common interest. The most common conventions are based upon industry, profession, and fandom. Trade conventions typically focus on a particular industry or industry segment, and feature keynote speakers, vendor displays, and other information and activities of interest to the event organizers and attendees. Professional conventions focus on issues of concern to the profession and advancements in the profession. Such conventions are generally organized by societies dedicated to promotion of the topic of interest. Fan conventions usually feature displays, shows, and sales based on pop culture, often with people dressed up as their favorite characters, and guest celebrities. Conventions also exist for various hobbies, such as gaming or model railroads.

Conventions are often planned and coordinated, often in exacting detail, by professional meeting and convention planners, either by staff of the convention's hosting company or by outside specialists. Most large cities will have a convention center dedicated to hosting such events. The term MICE - meetings Incentives Conventions and Exhibitions - is widely used in Asia as a description of the industry. The Convention ("C")is one of the most dynamic elements in the M.I.C.E. segment. The industry is generally regulated under the tourism sector.

Con is a common abbreviation for convention, and some conventions (such as Uppcon and J-popcon) use it in their names.

'''Genki-Man''' were drawn by ''[[User:Hecko X|Victor Maric Alring]]'', also known as ''Hecko X'' or simply ''Hecko'', as a joke to spice up one of the posts on the website for [[Genki 2009]], as they had been lacking pictures for quite a while. People took a liking to the oddly drawn character and he soon became the de facto cartoon representation of the [[Genksters]], albeit without reaching mascot status like [[Ping and Pong]].

Anime conventions are also used as a vehicle for industry, in which studios, distributors, and publishers represent their anime related releases.

Anime conventions are gatherings for fans of anime, manga and Japanese culture. These conventions are hosted at convention centers, hotels, schools and different venues and often stretch several days. There participants can enjoy various types of panels, activities and events. In the United States these conventions are used as a vehicle for industry, in which studios, distributors and publishers can show off their work to their fans.

== History ==
One of the first conventions was Comiket which started in 1975 with around 700 people in Tokyo, Japan. Comiket now sees several hundred thousand participants during their convention and many millions of dollars worth of merchandise is sold in a short period of time.

In the west conventions took wind mostly in the United States in the early 1980’s and followed during that decade to Europe. Western conventions take cue from Japanese conventions on how to host a convention in regards to content as inviting industry guests, cosplay, dealers and various other similarities.
Most western anime conventions are fan operated, meaning a group of self appointed fans manage the affairs necessary to run the event, either as individuals or as a non-profit group. Many early conventions were run out-of-pocket at the expense of these organizers, often referred to as directors. However as a result of many factors, most did not run more than 2 years annually.

'''Anime Dating Game''' is based on the television show, [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dating_Game The Dating Game], and as such, has similar rules. As a twist, however, the three hidden suitors are all in cosplay and must answer the questions they are asked in the way the believe the characters they are cosplaying would answer them.

== Game play ==
A bachelor or bachelorette poses pre-written questions to three cosplaying suitors sitting on the opposite side of a screen. The suitors must then answer these questions as the believe the character they are cosplaying would answer them. Without any prior knowledge of who the suitors are, the bachelor or bachelorette must then choose one of the suitors as a date, based on the answers they give. To add to the entertainment value, questions would sometimes be rigged in a way that would provide a rediculous response from the suitors or hint to their character.

== History ==
While the origins of the Anime Dating Game are unknown, it first debuted on the Danish anime convention stage during [[J-Popcon 2006]]. It later reappeared during [[Genki 2009]].
