This Wiki was created in order to provide the average Joe and Jane Doe with a greater insight in the various aspects that make up the Genki convention. We also hope to eventually be able to provide 'guides' to con-making and planning and encourage those with experience to share them on the wiki in the form of articles.

To start a anime convention (con), some information is needed and tips and tricks are always welcome from other cons to start up. This wiki was started by a few people that worked on a few different cons and want to share information with each other about cons in order to facilitate newcomers, and the spread of ideas without having to seek it all on ones own.
Genki 2010 is an upcoming convention that will be held in the weekend of August 6-8, 2010. It is currently in its early planning phases.
Genki 2010 marks the first time a Danish animanga convention has a partnership with an organizer group from abroad, in this case, Swedish Mangakai Lund.
Info: After Genki 2009 a youth sponsoring organization called Kraftwerket asked us to host a “Genki” one half day event for them at a cultural festival in the center of Copenhagen. We hosted it and had about 200 full time guests with a few hundred more passing through to check out what was up. Another huge success with everything going as planned. Concerts, activities and a cosplay show made the day a complete and fun event.

J-Popcon, sometimes spelled J-popcon (without the upper case p), is a yearly Danish conventions for anime and Japanese popular culture, which is a gathering point for many fans from Denmark. J-Popcon started as a casual event, but has since then grown to a stable 1000 attendees. J-Popcon was first held in the year 2000. The next event wasn't held until 2003, and since then, it has been held every first weekend of November at Valby Kulturhus.

Cosplay
J-Popcon has hosted a popular cosplay competition every year and has since 2007 held the qualification rounds for the World Cosplay Summit at their venue. The Danish Cosplay summit was held in 2007, but has not been held since. The qualifications have been the main event of J-Popcons yearly cosplay competition.

Dealer Room
There is a dealer room at J-Popcon that has been housed by mostly Danish and Swedish dealers of anime, manga, and merchandise. Dealer rooms are places where stores are alloted tables and rooms and are allowed to sell swag to guests. Genki, sometimes also called Genki-con, is a Danish anime convention organized by a group of volunteers known as Genksters. It is held over a three-days-two-nights period from Friday to Sunday, but currently has no set date of the year. It however markets itself as a 'summer con' and is confined to that season, though smaller events hosted by Genki are held all year round, such as Genki ½. The main agenda of Genki is to promote all parts of Japanese pop-culture as equally as possible in order to please as many people as possible.

Programme
Genki's broad focus allows it to offer a wide range of activities in order to cater to the desires and interests of a large, varied audience. These activites include, but are not limited to, music, anime cinemas, art room, events, cosplay show, concerts, panels, and workshops.

History
Genki was originally set to debut in 2010, giving the organizers almost a full 15 months to plan the con, however, a sudden offer by Valby Kulturhus to use their building for free gave the organizers a chance to organize a beta-con. The beta-con was meant to be a testing ground of sorts for ideas and events with the trade-off being only having two months to organize everything and a limited number of participants (200).
To start a anime convention [con] some information is needed. For any group to start a con some information is needed and tips and tricks are always welcome from other cons to start up. This wiki was started by a few people that worked on a few different cons and want to share information with each other about cons in order to facilitate newcomers and the spread of ideas without having to seek it all on ones own.

Wenki
This Wiki was created in order to provide the average Joe and Jane Doe with a greater insight in the various aspects that make up the Genki convention. We also hope to eventually be able to provide 'guides' to con-making and planning and encourage those with experience to share them on the wiki in the form of articles. In order to be able to edit, please register first.
Genki, sometimes also called Genki-con, is a Danish anime convention organized by a group of volunteers known as Genksters. It is held over a three-days-two-nights period from Friday to Sunday, but currently has no set date of the year. It however markets itself as a 'summer con' and is confined to that season, though smaller events hosted by Genki are held all year round, such as Genki½.

In recent years they have aquired a canadian dealer, german dealer and the dealer room at J-popcon is expected to expand yet again.

Anime Cinema
At J-Popcon there are usually three or four cinemas and most of the time they show anime. At least one of the cinemas runs 24/7. The cinema tries to enmcompas a wide variety of anime for all age and gender audiences. In the beginning, mostly fansub versions would be shown, but since 2008 there has been a lot of focus on only showing licensed anime.
